Tapeworm Disease
We all have tapeworm stages in our bodies, probably going back to childhood when we ate dirt. It is not normal for these stages to hatch and develop further. Their purpose is to stay dormant. And perhaps they do little harm this way.

But I have found that all HIV/AIDS sufferers have “tapeworm disease”. The stages are hatching. This spews the tiny larvae and cysts, plus unfertilized eggs and their bacteria all over the body, making you feel sick. Perhaps the large amounts of solvents accumulated in the body forces them to hatch; perhaps the lowered immunity allows them to hatch. The Syncrometer usually detects scolices (heads) and eggs in the most vital organs: the thymus, spleen, bone marrow, brain and liver.

Tapeworm stages that have disseminated in your body do not come unaccompanied, either. They bring some very harmful bacteria and viruses with them. Streptomyces fungus is one of the worst. Wherever I detect Streptomyces, a tapeworm stage is not far away.

Could your gut flora play a role in cancer growth? According to recent research, the answer is a tentative yes.
~
Findings published in the journal Nature report the discovery of microbial-dependent mechanisms through which some cancers mount an inflammatory response that fuels their development and growth. These findings provide new insight into how cancer cells can hijack your body’s inflammatory reaction by exploiting microbial-dependent immune cells.
~

~ “The association between chronic inflammation and tumor development has long been known from the early work of German pathologist Rudolph Virchow. Harvard University pathologist Harold Dvorak later compared tumors with ‘wounds that never heal,’ noting the similarities between normal inflammation processes that characterize wound- healing and tumorigenesis or tumor-formation.
~
~ Indeed, 15 to 20 percent of all cancers are preceded by chronic inflammation – a persistent immune response that can target both diseased and healthy tissues… Still, most cancers are not preceded by chronic inflammation.
~
On the other hand, they exploit ubiquitous, infiltrating immune cells to unduly provoke and hijack the host inflammatory reaction. Until now, the mechanism of so-called ‘tumor-elicited inflammation,’ which is detected in most solid malignancies, was poorly explained.

~ ‘The tumor-associated inflammatory reaction… may hold the keys for future preventive and therapeutic measures,’ said first author Sergei Grivennikov, Ph.D

Noting that studies of long-term users of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin, have revealed that general inhibition of inflammation reduces the risk of cancer death by up to 45 percent, depending on the type of cancer. ‘So inhibition of inflammation during cancer development may be beneficial.'”

How Even Beneficial Gut Bacteria Might Spur Colon Cancer Growth
~
The research centered around colon cancer. What may be surprising is that the intestinal bacteria involved in this inflammatory mechanism are not necessarily the pathogenic variety, but rather ordinarily benign microflora.
~
The reason for this is because as the tumor develops, it disrupts the normal, healthy functioning of tissues, and because tumors lack a particular protein that normally coats and protects tissue cells, normal microflora present in your colon can enter the tumor. Since the bacteria does not “belong” there, your immune cells recognize them as invaders, and launch an inflammatory response.
~
The presence of microbial products are also picked up by macrophages (white blood cells) and immune cells within the tumor, which in turn produce cytokines that further spurs the inflammatory process. One of the primary cytokines involved is Interleukin-23, which regulates inflammation and triggers the production of other inflammatory cytokines that promote tumor development and progression.
~
The researchers were able to reduce tumor-elicited inflammation and tumor growth by using a combination of broad-spectrum antibiotics. Antibiotics, as you probably know, indiscriminately kill off all types of intestinal bacteria, and by reducing the normal microflora, tumor growth and related inflammation diminished.
~
According to Grivennikov:
~ “This is a very nice demonstration of how tumor-elicited inflammation in cancers that arise in the absence of underlying chronic inflammatory disease can be induced… The next step is to look for the upregulation of Interleukin-23 and related cytokines in colon cancer patients, inhibit these cytokines and determine whether these impact cancer progression and response to therapy.”

While tumor growth and tumor-elicited inflammation was reduced, I would caution you to not get confused and think that heavy-handed antibiotic use might spare you from colon cancer. I believe this would be a serious mistake… The key, I think, is to place a greater focus on optimizing gut health, to prevent and naturally counteract the development of inflammation in the first place.

The idea that you might be able to halt colon cancer proliferation by eradicating your microflora, or designing a drug to prevent cytokine production is bound to cause some serious side effects. Cytokine production occurs in response to inflammation, so just inhibiting them is not actually going to resolve the underlying inflammation…
~
And you clearly cannot be healthy without normal gut flora, so eradicating it to prevent tumor growth would likely be disastrous in the long term. What you want to do is encourage the proliferation of beneficial bacteria, which by competitive inhibition, will limit or decimate the populations of pathogenic bacteria, yeasts and fungi. This is largely done by limiting fuel for the pathogens, which would include sugars and non-fibrous carbs, and providing loads of beneficial bacterial supplements like fermented vegetables.

As Grivennikov says, inhibiting inflammation during cancer development is likely a vital component of prevention. The question is how to properly inhibit inflammation, and in my view, inhibiting inflammation through healthy lifestyle choices makes a whole lot of sense, as opposed to taking drugs.

Chemotherapy Can Boost Cancer Growth, Study Finds

A related news story again highlights the need to revise how we treat cancer and how we view cancer prevention. Chemotherapy is a staple of the * cut, poison, burn paradigm that is conventional cancer treatment, despite the evidence against it. According to research published in the journal Nature Medicine, chemotherapy can damage healthy cells in such a way that they begin secreting a protein (WNT16B) that not only protects cancer cells and promotes their survival, but can also cause the tumors to be resistant to further chemotherapy treatment.

In a nutshell, what we’re talking about is chemotherapy-resistant cancer… caused by the initial treatment. It’s difficult to think of a worse scenario than this. The finding was reportedly “completely unexpected,” and was only discovered because they were trying to determine why cancer cells can be easily killed in a lab setting yet remain so resilient inside your body. The results were confirmed on breast and ovarian cancer tumors.Co-author Peter Nelson of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle told AFP:

The researchers speculate that adding an antibody to WNT16B to the chemotherapy might improve the response rate and kill off more cancer cells. Another alternative might be to use smaller, less toxic doses of chemotherapy to reduce the damage to healthy cells.

Getting to the Root of the Problem

I strongly believe the cancer rates are escalating because they are in no way shape or form addressing the underlying cause of most cancers. Instead, most of the research is directed towards expensive drugs that target late stages of the disease and greatly enrich the drug companies but simply do not prevent cancer. If ever there was an area in which an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure it is cancer. I strongly believe that if you are able to work your way up to * the advanced level of my health plan, that you will virtually eliminate your risk of most cancers.

Otto Warburg actually received a Nobel Prize for his research on cancer cell physiology in 1934, which clearly demonstrated cancer cells require more sugar to thrive. Unfortunately, very few oncologists appreciate or apply this knowledge today.

The good news is that controlling your insulin levels is relatively straightforward. First, limit your intake of processed foods, grains and sugars/fructose as much as possible to prevent your insulin levels from becoming elevated in the first place. Replace them with healthy fats such as butter, animal fat, coconut oil, avocados, seeds and nuts.

I recently completed ten hours of interviews with Dr. Rosedale in which he goes FAR deeper into his philosophy and recommendations. I was floored at what I learned and he has once again changed my position on many important nutritional issues. One of the KEY new insights is that you need to LIMIT your protein to no more than your basic requirements, which is about one gram per kilogram of LEAN body mass, which is typically less than 70 grams for most people. Number 3: Exercise – If you are like most people, when you think of reducing your risk of cancer, exercise doesn’t immediately come to mind. However, there is some fairly compelling evidence that exercise can slash your risk of cancer.

One of the primary ways exercise lowers your risk for cancer is by reducing elevated insulin levels, which creates a low sugar environment that discourages the growth and spread of cancer cells. Additionally, exercise improves the circulation of immune cells in your blood. Your immune system is your first line of defense against everything from minor illnesses like a cold right up to devastating, life-threatening diseases like cancer.

The trick about exercise, though, is understanding how to use it as a precise tool. This ensures you are getting enough to achieve the benefit, not too much to cause injury, and the right variety to balance your entire physical structure and maintain strength and flexibility, and aerobic and anaerobic fitness levels. This is why it is helpful to view exercise like a drug that needs to be carefully prescribed to achieve its maximum benefit.

It’s important to include a large variety of techniques in your exercise routine, such as strength training, aerobics, core-building activities, and stretching. Most important of all, however, is to make sure you include * high-intensity, burst-type exercise, once or twice a week, in which you raise your heart rate up to your anaerobic threshold for 20 to 30 seconds, and then you recover for 90 seconds. The last three days i have been experiencing dizzy spells… The room moves to the right when i open my eyes from sleeping… Then i may turn my head and another spell for seconds… Then turn again and be alright… Off balance follows when i stand and try to take a step at times now as well… Happens at times when i slowly turn my head, not when i shake my head though…

Before many of my symptoms i experienced endless eye twitching… I only just found out it is due to parasites… Plus a drug to combat them may cause it as well… I have yet to start any regimen in killing off parasites of yet… The eye twitching has calmed down as other symptoms have progressed…
~
Realize added symptoms are not from us aging, our chemistry changing every 7 years, etc… I assumed and until i read the Huma Worm Parasite Symptoms List line for line i was astonished! I then kept researching parasites, etc…

Questions and Answers About Lean Finely Textured Beef
Unfortunately, recent media reports and so-called “reality” shows have raised concerns about the product without the benefit of facts from those that produce or use it. These questions and answers aim to provide those facts.
~
What is Lean Finely Textured Beef?
Lean Finely Textured Beef (LFTB) is a key source of the lean meat used to make ground beef. Ground beef is generally made by combining lean beef trimmings with other beef trimmings and grinding them together to make different lean blends that consumers desire (example 90% lean / 10% fat).
~
The benefit of separating the fat from the lean in the beef trimmings is the ability to make leaner and more affordable ground beef blends; however, this separation has historically been nearly impossible to do by hand. Thirty years ago, the technology was developed to make this possible – state of the art food processing equipment allowed the removal of the fat from the beef trimmings. The finished product from this process is known as Lean Finely Textured Beef or LFTB.

How is Lean Finely Textured Beef Made?
When beef carcasses are portioned the pieces that are cut off (“beef trimmings”) often have lean meat remaining with them. These USDA inspected beef trimmings are refrigerated and sent to LFTB producers. Similar to standard ground beef processes, the trimmings are sent to specialized machinery which removes any connective tissue, cartilage, and other pieces that may incidentally accompany the trimmings. To separate the fat from the lean meat the trimmings are warmed to the temperature they were prior to refrigeration (105°F) using equipment designed to evenly temper the trimmings. The trimmings are then sent to a centrifuge where the fat is removed using centrifugal force. The lean meat which is now 94% to 97% lean, is then frozen and packaged. The process used to make LFTB is similar to the one used to separate cream from milk and a variety of other everyday foods.

Is LFTB regulated and inspected?
LFTB is 100% beef and all beef is strictly regulated and inspected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) carries out USDA’s responsibilities under the Federal Meat Inspection Act. These laws protect consumers by ensuring that meat is wholesome, unadulterated, and correctly labeled and packaged. Inspectors are present in plants where these products are made everyday to ensure they are produced in accordance with established regulations in a safe and wholesome manner. During the more than three decades BPI has been producing lean beef, they have had an unsurpassed food safety record.

Is it true that these trimmings previously were only used for pet food and oil and were unfit for human consumption, as one media outlet claimed?
That statement is absolutely false. LFTB is 100% USDA inspected and regulated beef. Beef trimmings are edible and no process can make an inedible product edible. What the LFTB production process simply does is allow the removal of fat from beef trimmings, which was previously near impossible to accomplish through knife trimming by hand.

What is Ammonia and how is it different than Ammonium Hydroxide?
Ammonia is a colorless gas which is lighter than air and readily soluble in water. It is one (1) part nitrogen to three (3) parts hydrogen (NH3). It is formed naturally in nature as a by-product of protein metabolism in animals. Ammonia is naturally found in beef, other proteins, and virtually all foods.
Ammonium hydroxide is simply a solution of ammonia gas in water.

Is there Ammonia in LFTB ?
Yes, there is Ammonia naturally occurring in all beef. In addition, as part of our commitment to provide the safest lean beef possible, research drove us to create the pH enhancement process, which relies upon slightly increasing the level of Ammonia already present in beef in order to elevate its pH to combat deadly pathogens such as E coli O157:H7.

What is E coli O157:H7?
Escherichia coli O157:H7 is an enterohemorrhagic strain of the bacterium Escherichia coli and a cause of foodborne illness. Infection often leads to hemorrhagic diarrhea, and occasionally to kidney failure, especially in young children and elderly persons.

Transmission is via the fecal-oral route, and most illness has been associated with eating undercooked, contaminated ground beef or ground pork, swimming in or drinking contaminated water, or eating contaminated vegetables.

Why is Ammonia used in processing a beef product?
Ammonium hydroxide is created by applying a tiny amount of ammonia in the form of a puff of gas. This raises the pH level in the beef helping to kill any harmful pathogens like E coli O157:H7 and Salmonella that could possibly be present. These bacteria grow and thrive in an acidic (low pH) environment. By raising the pH we disrupt the bacteria’s natural environment making it inhospitable for them to live. The result of this revolutionary food safety intervention is a dramatic reduction in the number of potential pathogens that may be present in foods. Ammonia is naturally found in all beef, other proteins, and virtually all foods and has been declared safe by the Food and Drug Administration for use in food processing since 1974. Ammonia, in its many forms, is widely used in the processing of numerous foods, such as baked goods, cheeses, chocolates, caramels, and puddings.

Ammonium hydroxide is just one of a number of processing aids used with meat and poultry in order to ensure the safety of these foods before they are delivered to consumers. The specific processing aide developed by BPI, the pH enhancement process, is just one important step in the overall food safety system employed by BPI.
~
The graphic below helps put it into a little better perspective. Ammonia based compounds are naturally occurring and can be found in every component of a bacon cheeseburger (bun, bacon, cheese, condiments, and beef). Baked goods, including breads will have ranges from 400 to 32,000 ppm. Bacon has approximately 48,000 ppm nitrogen (nitrates), with 160 ppm in the form of ammonia. Condiments, relishes, and cheeses have levels up to 8,000 ppm (for the sake of illustration, we’ll use 400 ppm for the condiments and 1,000 ppm for American cheese).

Between the naturally occurring levels and small amounts used in our food safety system, beef may have about 200 ppm. So, for the illustration, we’ve taken these amounts and multiplied by the weight of the typical bacon double cheeseburger to show the full picture.
~
This is really nothing new. In fact, the presence or use of ammonia in foods has been studied for years. For example, the data below contains information developed in 1973 as part of a study printed in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

When any form of LFTB is blended into ground beef, will it be labeled?
Ground beef is a single ingredient product (beef) and LFTB is 100% beef; therefore it is not required to be listed separately on any label. We believe USDA’s decision to allow companies to voluntarily include information on their label regarding LFTB content will be an important first step in restoring consumer confidence in their ground beef.

What do the experts say about its safety?
Experts such as Dr. Gary Acuff at Texas A&M University and Dr. James Dickson with Iowa State University, among many others have examined these products and say that all forms of LFTB are wholesome, safe, and nutritious when produced in compliance with USDA regulations. A number of meat scientists, academics, food and safety experts, governmental officials, and consumer advocacy organizations have spoken on behalf of the food safety record and quality of LFTB. Experts such as Dr. Richard Ray Raymond former Under Secretary for The Food and Safety Inspection Service, Dr Randy Phebus a Meat Scientist and food and safety expert with The Food Science Institute at Kansas State University, Dr. Thomas Powell Executive Director of the American Meat Association, and Sally Greenberg Executive Director of the National Consumers League just to name a few.

What does the food safety data show?
USDA data shows that the incidence of E coli O157:H7 in fresh ground beef has been declining significantly over the past decade. The number of USDA ground beef samples testing positive for the E coli O157:H7 pathogen have dropped 72 percent between 2000 and 2010. LFTB has been a part of that success story.

Is it really necessary to try to get every small bit of beef from a carcass?
Necessary? No. Is it the right thing to do? Absolutely!
~
LFTB production makes it possible to have more of the leaner ground beef blends consumers desire at affordable prices. If LFTB were not produced, 850,000,000 lbs of lean beef a year would need to be generated from some other source to meet consumer demand. It would be like throwing away 5,700 cattle a day. In a world where population is increasing*; red meat consumption is rising; and available supply is declining, it would seem that getting all the lean meat from every animal is the absolute necessary and responsible thing to do.

Since the Clinton administration made biotechnology “a strategic priority for U.S. government backing” (1), giant transnational agri-business concerns have aggressively taken over the global food chain by flooding it with Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) without regard for the consequences to the earth or its inhabitants. This takeover not only has the potential for global economic devastation, but threatens the earth’s population with far-reaching health concerns as well. One health concern that seems to coincide with the GMO revolution is Morgellons disease. What if the advent of Morgellons disease has something to do with the ingestion of GMO foods?

Morgellons Disease – What is it?
~
Very little can be found regarding this disease. Originally, sufferers were told that their problem was imaginary. This was of little comfort to the people who were suffering.
~
Morgellons Disease sufferers report strange, fiber-like material sticking out of sores or wounds that erupt on the skin. This is accompanied by painful, intense itching, that has been described as “an ever present sensation as if something is crawling under the skin.” (2)

On May 18, 2006, KGW, a local news channel reporting out of the Oregon area published this story:

“I thought I had been exposed to asbestos. I thought I was having asbestos fibers come out of my skin. I was pulling long, thin, small hair-like fibers that were extremely sharp that could literally pierce through my finger nails,” Drottar said.

In addition to the feeling of bugs and the fibers, Drottar also suffered from severe depression, chronic fatigue and a weakened immune system. As a result, she had to give up her family practice, Drottar said. (3)

Morgellons and GMO – the Link

Little information has been revealed concerning the long-term health effects of GMO crops on humans or animals, and even less information can be had regarding research correlating Morgellons with GMO foods. This is suspicious right off the bat, because it would seem that there would be a natural curiosity regarding a link between Genetically Modified Organisms that people ingest regularly and inorganic fibers that protrude from a person’s skin. This would be right up a geneticist’s alley, and quite worthy of intensive research. So, why aren’t there a ton of published studies? Why is it so difficult finding anything related to this? Could it be that companies such as Monsanto have enough clout to effectively squash these stories? If they have enough clout to ruin countries by deceiving impoverished farmers into purchasing patented GMO seeds, and then take it a step further and force these poor people to purchase seeds year after year instead of harvesting their own, then they have enough clout to ask our more than willing corporate government to manipulate the press…again.

Well Monsanto, you let at least one study slip through. With the help of a couple of search engines, the following article by Whitley Strieber published on October 12, 2007, titled “Skin Disease May Be Linked to GM Food” was found, which concludes that the fibers taken from a Morgellons sufferer contain the same substance that is “used commercially to produce genetically-modified plants.” Here is the article:

Many people—and most physicians—have written off Morgellons disease as either a hoax or hypochondria. But now there is evidence that this mysterious disease may be REAL and related to GENETICALLY MODIFIED food!

The skin of Morgellons victims oozes mysterious strands that have been identified as cellulose (which cannot be manufactured by the human body), and people have the sensation of things crawling beneath their skin. The first known case of Morgellons occurred in 2001, when Mary Leitao created a web site describing the disease, which had infected her young son. She named it Morgellons after a 17th century medical study in France that described the same symptoms.

In the Sept. 15-21 issue of New Scientist magazine, Daniel Elkan describes a patient he calls “Steve Jackson,” who “for years” has “been finding tiny blue, red and black fibers growing in intensely itchy lesions on his skin.” He quotes Jackson as saying, “The fibers are like pliable plastic and can be several millimeters long. Under the skin, some are folded in a zigzag pattern. These can be as fine as spider silk, yet strong enough to distend the skin when you pull them, as if you were pulling on a hair.”

Doctors say that this type of disease could only be caused by a parasite, but anti-parasitic medications do not help. Psychologists insist that this is a new version of the well-known syndrome known as “delusional parasitosis.” While this is a “real” disease, it is not a physically-caused one.

But now there is physical evidence that Morgellons is NOT just psychological. When pharmacologist Randy Wymore offered to study some of these fibers if people sent them to him, he discovered that “fibers from different people looked remarkably similar to each other and yet seem to match no common environmental fibers.”

When they took them to a police forensic team, they said they were not from clothing, carpets or bedding. They have no idea what they are.

Researcher Ahmed Kilani says he was able to break down two fiber samples and extract their DNA. He found that they belonged to a fungus.
~
An even more provocative finding is that biochemist Vitaly Citovsky discovered that the fibers contain a substance called “Agrobacterium,” which, according to New Scientist, is “used commercially to produce genetically-modified plants.” Could GM plants be “causing a new human disease?” (5)
GMO – Not on My Watch!

The giant transnational corporations behind the GMO revolution are hitting us in our most vulnerable spot – our bellies. Most people have been brought up with an innate trust that what they purchase from the stores is safe to eat. This is no longer true, since most processed foods contain genetically engineered ingredients that can have disastrous effects on both animal and human health. What you purchase from the corner store might just change your DNA and create such frightening symptoms that the general public simply does not believe it. What is worse is that when you go to the doctor to get help, he/she tells you what you are experiencing is all in your head. This is rubbish! It is up to people who care to make the correlations between what we eat and what happens to our bodies. Remember the old saying – “you are what you eat?” Well, this author believes it is true.

Quite a few women have asked me recently what they can do to halt and reverse the hair loss that can accompany PCOS. Not that any of the symptoms of PCOS are particularly pleasant, but the loss of head hair seems to be one of the most upsetting for many women.

WHAT CAUSES HAIR LOSS IN PCOS?
There are several hormones which comprise what we collectively call androgens: testosterone, androsteinedione, and the very potent form dihydrotestosterone (DHT) all of which are made in men’s bodies in large amounts, and also in women’s bodies but normally in quite small amounts.
~
In those who are genetically susceptible, when testosterone comes in contact with enzymes residing in the hair cell, it can be converted into DHT, the more potent androgen, which then binds with receptors deep within the hair follicle.
~
Over time, an excess build-up of this very potent form of testosterone in the follicle causes it to start shrinking, which then alters the natural resting and growth phases of the hair, resulting in some of the follicles dying off and some becoming incapable of growing or maintaining a healthy level of hair growth.

So basically, DHT is the ‘root’ of all evil when it comes to hair loss for the majority of women with PCOS. (Sorry I truly couldn’t help myself).
~
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO REDUCE DHT LEVELS?
As hair growth is a slow process, you will need to allow for at least 3 and maybe 6 months for any significant difference, however there are plenty of things you can do:
~
SAW PALMETTO: This medicinal herb (serenoa repens) has been shown to have antiandrogenic effects (Testosterone lowering). It acts in a similar way to the male pattern hair loss drug Propecia by blocking the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which when it interacts with testosterone in the body turns it into the far more potent form, DHT. It also blocks the receptor sites on your cell membranes that allow the absorption of DHT.
~
SPEARMINT: You can also add things like spearmint tea into your diet, it has been shown to lower testosterone levels when taken regularly.
~
AVOCADO: Blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT.
LIQUORICE & WHITE PAEONY: These herbs which are also in a chinese formula together called TJ-68 have also been shown in clinical studies to lower testosterone.
~
STINGING NETTLE, GOTU KOLA & SIBERIAN GINSENG: all act to block the formation of DHT as I think does Pygeum an african prune.
~
GREEN TEA EXTRACT: contains a very potent antioxidant polyphenol called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which inhibits 5-alpha reductase, blocking the formation of DHT. In a study on rodents, a third of those who had green tea extract added to their drinking water had significant hair regrowth.
~
NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT: Magnesium, Zinc and B6 are all very good for your hair, skin and nails and also DHT blockers. In additionally a good quality multivitamin is a good idea for everybody. The amino acids l-lysine and l-arginine also help to combat hair loss.
~
KETOCONAZOLE: There is an antifungal/antidandruff shampoo called Nizoral which contains ketoconazole, which can reduce DHT levels when used as a shampoo or in tablets, can actually reduce the amount of androgens produced. You can get a 1% shampoo over the counter at a pharmacy or a 2% one on prescription.

You could also try a regenerative hair oil treatment including oils such as:

~ Emu Oil as a Base (as it is a DHT blocker) and any of the following:
~ Sunflower (supplies more Vitamin E than any other oil) (Its strengthening and protective agents help to further nourish and condition dry or damaged hair)

~ Cedar & Chammomile (great tonic for fair hair)
~ Citrus Oils (all cleanse oil and increase shine)
~ Cypress (Shine and condition. Also an uplifting scent)
~ Eucalyptus (Stimulating and cleansing)
~ Grapefruit (stimulates scalp)
~ Juniper (great for toning an oily scalp)
~ Lavender (stimulates hair growth, has a lovely fragrance and is a good cleanser)
~ Lemon (treat underactive glands, promotes hair growth)
~ Lemongrass (Great for adding shine)
~ Patchouli (Deep cleansing)
~ Peppermint (promotes circulation, is stimulating and cleansing and removes shampoo buildup)
~ Rose (Shine, scent, youthfulness)
~ Rosemary (stimulates hair growth, increases volume, good for getting rid of dandruff)
~ Sage (stimulates hair growth)
~ Tea Tree (Eradicating Lice, Dandruff & Fungus. Stimulates Scalp)
~ Thyme (stimulates hair growth by deep cleansing hardened sebum)
~ Ylang-Ylang (Good for split ends, stimulates scalp increasing hair growth, soothes skin, balances sebum production)
~
Add 3 drops of each oil (choose the ones you think will help you the most but best not to use more than 7 at a time) to a base of emu oil and/or sunflower oil and/or olive oil, making sure you keep the essential oils at less than 10% – I would probably go for 2.5% – 5%. There are roughly 20 drops to one millilitre, and there are 5ml in a teaspoon. If you use 36 drops or roughly 2 ml, you would need between and 25 and 100 ml depending upon how strong you wanted to make it. I definitely recommend starting with the lower concentration until you see how sensitive your scalp is.
~
You can also add essential oils to your existing shampoo or conditioner. I add 10 drops of tea tree oil to my shampoo and rinse my hair with vinegar instead of using conditioner. (I use brown, but apple cider vinegar, live with the ‘mother’ such as Braggs is best). This alters the pH of your hair and scalp and prevents yeasts and fungal infections from taking up residence. It also makes your hair REALLY silky smooth. I have long, thick, curly hair (currently down to my tailbone) and find that rinsing with vinegar makes it much easier to brush and detangle and reduces the amount of hair you shed each time you wash. I have found it to be better than conditioner, even the expensive salon brands.

Toxic Shampoo

I was just made aware of a toxic corrosive chemical put in Dove, Suave, etc… products by a friend… Who now uses Dr Bronner’s things…

When embracing a healthy lifestyle, there’s one thing we learn over and over: healthy living requires vigilance. This is true of food and exercise, and, especially, the products we buy.
~
Like so much in modern life, shampoos and hair care products often contain too many ingredients that were born on a chemist’s bench. These chemicals are absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream, and from there they can wreak havoc on organs, tissues, and cells. Luckily, there are many reputable natural health companies that are aware of these dangers and use healthy cleansing agents in their body products instead.

Toxin Alert
~
But, unless you’re extremely careful, it’s pretty much impossible to avoid all exposure to harmful, health-robbing toxins. Here’s a list of common chemical offenders found in many shampoos:
~
~ Parabens: A common preservative used to eliminate bacteria and fungi in cosmetics, parabens have been linked to increased estrogen levels, which can lead to hormonal disorders and even cancer.
~ Quaternium-15: A preservative that releases formaldehyde and has been linked to cancer, specifically leukemia, quaternium-15 is also an allergen and can cause contact dermatitis.
~ Fragrance: We would need an entire book to list all the ingredients found in the various fragrances used in shampoos and skin products. These can cause allergic reactions, rashes, headaches and nausea. Some fragrance compounds have been linked to cancer.
~ Methylisothiazolinone: Often abbreviated on ingredients lists as MIT, this preservative is found in a wide variety of shampoos and has been linked to neurological damage, particularly in unborn children. MIT has also been linked to Alzheimer’s disease.
~ Sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate: Abbreviated SLS and SLES, these surfactants make soaps foamy. They can also cause skin and eye irritation and have been linked to endocrine disruption, genetic mutations, and cancer.
~ 1,4-dioxane: Not an ingredient so much as a contaminant, however, it’s been found in 22 percent of the products in the Skin Deep Database from the Environmental Working Group. This is cause for concern. The Environmental Protection Agency classifies dioxane as a probable carcinogen.
~
What to Do
~
The first line of defense is prevention. Do whatever you can to keep these chemical compounds off your skin as much as possible. But again, these toxins are so common that it’s difficult to avoid them entirely. Luckily, there are a number of ways to protect your health in the presence of these harmful pollutants.
~
Eat protective nutrients. Many of the harmful chemicals in shampoos and body products have an oxidative effect, which can wreak havoc on cells, tissues, and organs by causing chronic inflammation and free radical damage. Antioxidants combat these effects, particularly vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A and beta-carotene, alpha lipoic acid, N-acetyl-cysteine, and others. Fresh berries, nuts, cruciferous and colored vegetables, and numerous herbs and spices are also high in antioxidants.
~
Add botanical supplements. Calendula, honeysuckle, astragalus, and rehmannia root can help protect the skin from irritation and other damage. Calendula and honeysuckle are flowers and usually steeped in hot water to make tea. Astragalus and rehmannia are roots and are often ground into a powder and mixed with water, or put into a capsule or tablet form, along with other herbs. Calendula and honeysuckle are also commonly used topically to soothe irritated and inflamed skin. Using herbs both topically and orally can provide greater benefits.
~
Enlist detox helpers. Once harmful chemicals are in your body, you want to do what you can to get them out. A number of dietary supplements, botanicals, foods, and specific cleansing diets can help detoxify many of these pollutants.
~
Seven of the top natural ingredients that offer powerful yet gentle whole-body detoxification are:
~
~ Medicinal mushrooms: Reishi, agaricus, cordyceps, coriolus, maitake, and umbellatus, along with many other types, help to remove toxins from the body. Detoxifying mushrooms can be cooked in meals, taken as supplements, or mixed in powdered form in hot water for tea.
~ Dandelion (leaf and root): Dandelion root provides powerful support for cleansing the liver and the gallbladder—two key organs essential for detoxification. What is Syncope?
~
Syncope is a medical term used to describe a temporary loss of consciousness due to the sudden decline of blood flow to the brain. Syncope is commonly called fainting or “passing out.” If an individual is about to faint, he or she will feel dizzy, lightheaded, or nauseous and their field of vision may “white out” or “black out.” The skin may be cold and clammy. The person drops to the floor as he or she loses consciousness. After fainting, an individual may be unconscious for a minute or two, but will revive and slowly return to normal. Syncope can occur in otherwise healthy people and affects all age groups, but occurs more often in the elderly.

There are several types of syncope. Vasovagal syncope usually has an easily identified triggering event such as emotional stress, trauma, pain, the sight of blood, or prolonged standing. Carotid sinus syncope happens because of constriction of the carotid artery in the neck and can occur after turning the head, while shaving, or when wearing a tight collar. Situational syncope happens during urination, defecation, coughing, or as a result of gastrointestinal stimulation. Syncope can also be a symptom of heart disease or abnormalities that create an uneven heart rate or rhythm that temporarily affect blood volume and its distribution in the body. Syncope isn’t normally a primary sign of a neurological disorder, but it may indicate an increased risk for neurologic disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), diabetic neuropathy, and other types of neuropathy. Certain classes of drugs are associated with an increased risk of syncope, including diuretics, calcium antagonists, ACE inhibitors, nitrates, antipsychotics, antihistamines, levodopa, narcotics, and alcohol.

Why do some IBS sufferers have these symptoms? The most likely explanation is the body’s own vasovagal reflex. The reflex stems from our vagus nerve, which is a nerve that travels from our brains to our colons, and contributes to a wide variety of physical functions, including swallowing, speaking, heart rate and digestion.
~
The vasovagal reflex is a sudden triggering of the vagus nerve. This may occur in response to a variety of factors, including:
~
~ Fear
~ Emotional stress
~ Gastrointestinal illness
~ Pain
~ Sight of blood
~ Standing for a long time
~ Standing up quickly
~ Trauma
~ or another one for you! (everyone is different on thresh holds)
~
The reflex results in an abrupt dropping of blood pressure and a sudden reduction in heart rate. At its worst, the reflex will result in fainting, as blood flow shifts away from the head and down into the legs. Fainting that is triggered by the vasovagal reflex is called vasovagal syncope.

WARNING SIGNS
~
At the appearance of warning signs such as;
~ lightheadedness
~ nausea
~ cold and clammy skin
~
Counter-pressure maneuvers that involve gripping fingers into a fist, tensing the arms, and crossing the legs or squeezing the thighs together can be used to ward off a fainting spell. If fainting spells occur often without a triggering event, syncope may be a sign of an underlying heart disease.
~

This scenario happens with no trail of evidence to track… Even a heart monitor may not pick up on it! Triggers cause the episodes, but may not cause them every time!
~ YOU must keep a journal on your episodes… List the triggers, the feelings, your symptoms, the time of day, how long out, how you felt after, etc… IT all shows your caring cardiologist a pattern…

Vasovagal syncope is a common cause of fainting. The vagus nerve is overstimulated and causes the body’s blood vessels to dilate and the heart to slow down. This anti-adrenaline effect decreases the ability of the heart to pump blood upward to the brain against gravity. Without blood flow, the brain turns off. In Victorian England, when this happened because young ladies’ sensibilities were easily offended, this was called a swoon.

Fortunately, the body is able to correct this temporary problem and return normalcy to the circulatory system in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately, that time delay allows the faint to happen, and while the faint itself is not a big deal, the potential complications may be. Falling is tough as you get older, kids bounce but adults tend to break. Imagine fainting while driving a car or swimming in a lake. While the grizzled veterans of the medical community laugh at the “routine faint” and then welcome the new students into their fraternity, blacking-out is not something to be taken lightly.
~
People faint at the sight of blood. Parents faint when their kids get immunized. Older people faint in church. Many types of emotional and physical stressors can stimulate the vagus nerve to do damage. But on occasion, the cause of the faint is not vasovagal syncope but something more serious. Encouraging the person to seek medical care or calling 911 may save a life. While it may be an inconvenience or sometimes an embarrassment to a patient, being unconscious is not normal. It may be easily explained…but it’s not normal.
