ADH1 to Methanol to Formaldehyde

Posted in ASPARTAME tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:57 pm by PCOSLady

PCOS Lady:
Diabetics and most people are having their ADH1 levels checked yearly… This post explains what the ADH1 actually is… This is scary and may scare you straight! I hope you think twice about smoking and eating or drinking anything with aspartame in it…
~ “YOU” are choosing the rate you will die… Be it fast or slow…

A liter of diet drink gives the same methanol (wood alcohol) as the smoke from a pack of cigarettes, 60 mg — methanol has a half-life in the human bloodstream of 3 hours, showing that its elimination is slow, while it reaches every part of the body and the fetus every minute.
~
Methanol is actually less toxic than ethanol, except when it goes easily into cells that also happen to have high levels of free floating ADH1 enzyme, in 19 specific human tissues, including inner walls of blood vessels in the brain and eye, as well as in the rods and cones of the retina — the methanol is made quickly into free floating formaldehyde inside these cells, where it naturally wrecks havoc, interfering with all biochemistry, just as in its well known uses for embalming and sterilizing medical tools.
~
The resulting stew of formaldehyde modified proteins activates the inflammation process of the immune system, producing complex evolving pussy lesions — brain in Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis, inner walls of blood vessels in atherosclerosis, skin fibroblasts in lupus, pancreas in diabetes 2, retina in macular degeneration, joint fibroblasts in rheumatoid arthritis

~
18 diseases from smoking cigarettes (a strong methanol source) — 24 references;

This is a work in progress, highly incomplete, as this is an introductory update on the status of an breakthrough paradigm in toxicology, that presents multiple strong lines of evidence, allowing any intelligent layperson to come to their own decisions about methanol and resulting chronic formaldehyde toxicity diseases for specific high ADH1 sites, ranging from breast cancer to diabetes 2.

“Methanol travels easily to breast tissue and has been found in human milk. 219
~
The cells that produce milk within the breast, cells prone to develop
the most common of breast cancers, adenocarcinoma 358, contain high
levels of ADH1 enzyme, 358 allowing methanol’s conversion to
formaldehyde [ inside the cells as free floating acidic hydrated
formaldehyde, highly reactive on both sides of molecule ].
~
Mammary epithelial cells have no way to protect themselves from
formaldehyde 216 — no means to render it harmless.
~
They, unlike other breast tissue, contain no aldehyde dehydrogenase
enzyme (ADH 3) that could transform formaldehyde into the
non-carcinogenic formic acid. 216
~
Of particular interest are recent findings implicating ADH as playing
a pivotal role in the formation of breast cancer, documenting a
greater incidence of the disease in women with higher levels of ADH1
activity in their breasts. 357″

Many of these diseases, including diabetes 2, are twice as harmful for
those who never drink ethanol, compared to those who have just one
standard drink a day, due to the inhibition by ethanol of formation of
formaldehyde from methanol by ADH1.
~
Many people are protected by methanol in their blood from fermentation by bacteria in the GI tract.
~
High levels of ADH1:
~ liver, kidney, lung;
~ intima and media (inner walls) of blood vessels, notably base of brain and retina;
~ rods and cones in retina;
~ purkinje cells of vermis in cerebellum;
~ islets of Langerhans in pancreas;
~ fibroblasts in skin, bone marrow, synovial tissues in joints;
~ milk ducts of breast;

Men have several times more ADH1 in their GI tract than women, so less methanol gets into the blood to attack other tissues, so now four times as many women get multiple sclerosis as men.

PTEN Mutations as a Cause of Constitutive Insulin Sensitivity and Obesity
~
Background
~
Epidemiologic and genetic evidence links type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cancer. The tumor-suppressor phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN) has roles in both cellular growth and metabolic signaling. Germline PTEN mutations cause a cancer-predisposition syndrome, providing an opportunity to study the effect of PTEN haploinsufficiency in humans.

~
Scientists find insulin sensitivity gene, may lead to new diabetes treatments
~
The PTEN gene encodes for an enzyme that is part of the insulin signalling pathway in the body. It is known to have a role in controlling the body’s metabolism, and to play a part in cell growth. The Oxford team was interested in learning more about this dual role.
~
There is an inherited genetic condition called Cowden syndrome caused by faults in the PTEN gene. It is very rare and is thought to affect perhaps one in 200,000 people, with around 300 people with the condition in the UK. PTEN’s role in cell growth sees people with Cowden syndrome develop many benign polyps in their skin, mouth and bowel, and have a higher risk than the general population of developing breast cancer, thyroid cancer and womb cancer.

Heart Disease in Women with Statistics

Posted in HEART DISEASE tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:43 pm by PCOSLady

PCOS Lady:
Posted this for the statistics listed for you…
~
Heart Disease in Women: A Red-Hot, Overlooked Medical Issue
~
Compared to men, women are less likely to receive heart disease treatment, and more likely to experience severe problems during and after a heart attack.
~
Vascular disease leading to heart attacks and strokes is the number one killer of women in the U.S. and Canada—one in two women will die of heart disease or stroke, compared with one in 25 women who will die of breast cancer.
~
Yet heart problems are still widely regarded as a male problem, but we differ—for example, 42 percent of women who have heart attacks die within one year, compared to 24 percent of men. By the way, you may think osteoporosis is a female disease but that’s the same problem as thinking heart disease is a male disease. Osteoporosis is also a disease of both men and women and more men than women die after a hip fracture.
~
This stereotype is most worrisome when it counts most: before a heart attack. Women are largely under-treated when it comes to preventive heart and vascular care. In a recent study, a full 70 percent of people who experienced a heart attack did not receive prior treatment for heart disease. A majority of those overlooked? Women younger than 66 years.
~
Other research reveals: Women under 55 also have it worse than men during and following a heart attack. A study out of British Columbia showed that when a heart attack struck, women experienced more severe chest pains and more pain in spots like the shoulder, left arm, throat and neck.
~
Women have a keen ability to spot discomfort that their loved ones experience, but it’s important to recognize warning signs for yourself.
~
The following symptoms may not be alarming in your day-to-day, but in some cases could signal an aortic valve problem, which may lead to heart disease or heart attack:
~
1) Feeling tired or weak. If you work yourself into the ground during the week, feeling exhausted may not come as a surprise. Take note when you’re still feeling this way on a rested day.
2) Being short of breath. Making a big speech or seeing your child climbing on top of a cupboard can make you gasp for a full breath. But if you don’t have asthma or anxiety, and your chest is tight, make a trip to the doctor.
3) Getting light-headed. Feeling faint after a light lunch? Keep healthy snacks on hand and see if you’re still having dizzy spells. And if they’re reoccurring, see your doc.
4) Having palpitations. When your heart’s racing at night do you blame all that (good-for-you) coffee you downed during the day? If you aren’t big on caffeine and your heart’s beating hard while you’re lying down, take it up with your doc.
~
VIDEO: 4 Must-Know Heart Attack Warning Signs
http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/4-must-know-warning-signs-pt-1
~
Stop procrastinating. Too many women put off checking these symptoms because they simply “don’t have the time.” Just think of all the appointments you’d have down the line if you don’t figure out the source of these symptoms. Putting yourself first will help you get the care you need sooner, and turn the problem around if there is one.
~
If you have experienced a heart attack, you must (we repeat, must) put yourself first. Women in the Canadian study experienced poorer quality of life, recurring chest pain and more physical limitations during their recovery, than men.
~
Why? Since women often play caretaker to their family, they may not be as good at taking care of themselves when they need it most; the researchers found that women were less likely to do cardiac rehab than men!
~
For your family, lead by example in taking care of yourself, with a healthy diet and exercise plan, along with regular checkups. You’ll be quicker on your feet, and can prevent scary heart problems from arising in the first place.
~
Read on for your complete guide to how heart disease can be turned right around with lifestyle changes from diet to exercise and stress management.
~ Google: womens heart attack symptoms … Read and keep reading…
~ Look at your self and change the triggers and what bothers you… Change your eating ways, exercise, etc…
~ Rid your life of the negativity and relax to enjoy your life!

Take care of “YOU” and live a happy life!

Antibiotics to Bacteria to ? to Leaky Gut

Eating This Feeds Bacteria That Can Poke Holes Through Your Gut
~
June 20 2012 by Dr Mercola
~
Story at-a-glance
~
Azithromycin (Zithromax) is a macrolide antibiotic used in the treatment of bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infections, and sexually transmitted diseases. It’s known for having unpleasant side effects such as skin rashes, itching, allergic or anaphylactic reactions, and severe, watery diarrhea.
~
But it’s also associated with more severe side effects, such as myopathy―muscle and tendon pain, weakness and cramping―when taken in combination with statins. And previous research has shown that use of any type of antibiotic increases the risk of breast cancer in women.
~
~ Recent research found that the macrolide antibiotic Azithromycin increases your chances of dying from a cardiovascular event by 250 percent within the first five days of usage, compared to taking amoxicillin. Those who already have heart problems are at an even greater risk of dying from the drug, which parallels Vioxx that had killed 60,000 people by the time it was removed from the market in 2004.
~
~ Antibiotics are indiscriminate bactericides, meaning they kill ALL bacteria, both good and bad, and many of the immediate and long-term side effects are related to this fact, as disrupting your gut flora has a detrimental effect on your overall immune system.
~
~ The greatest danger posed by antibiotics does not come from prescribed courses of antibiotics, but rather from the food you eat. The prevalence of antibiotics found in both conventionally-grown meats and vegetables has the potential to throw off, or contribute to intestinal imbalance and subsequent immune system dysfunction.
~
~ It’s estimated that the non-therapeutic use of antibiotics in livestock accounts for 70 percent of the total antibiotic use in the US, and when all agricultural uses are considered, the share could be as high as 84 percent.
~
~ On December 22, 2011, the US FDA posted a notice in the Federal Register that it was effectively reneging on its plan to reduce the use of antibiotics in agricultural animal feed. Instead, the agency issued voluntary guidelines in April of this year, suggesting that livestock should only be treated with antibiotics to cure illness, not to enable growth.

~

DR JORGE FLECHAS

~
JORGE FLECHAS, M.D., M.P.H. born in Puerto Rico, received his Medical Doctorate Degree and Masters in Public Health at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
~
Dr. Flechas over the years has published articles in the fields of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome. Lately, he has been involved in research in the field of iodine deficiency, which has been associated with fibrocystic breast disease, ovarian cysts, breast cancer, thyroid goiter and hypothyroidism. Recent work in the field of iodine deficiency has shown that replacement therapy decreases the risk of breast cancer and promotes the reversal of fibrocystic breast disease.
~
It has been thought that iodine deficiency only manifests as hypothyroidism. Work done by many researchers over the last few years has shown that iodine is utilized by many different sections of the body. Twenty percent of all of the iodine sits in the human skin. A lack of iodine in the skin manifests as very dry skin and skin that does not sweat when an individual becomes hot. In newborn children iodine is responsible for the development of the babies’ I.Q. Recent research shows iodine deficiency is felt to be the source of attention deficit disorder in children.
~
Iodine is utilized by every hormone receptor in the body. The absence of iodine causes a hormonal dysfunction that can be seen with practically every hormone inside the body. Dr. Flechas has recently been able to show that patients with insulin resistant diabetes have a partial to full remission of their illness in the presence of taking iodine. Iodine deficiency is also felt to be the source of ovarian cysts. With iodine replacement therapy the cysts disappear and women have stopped having ovarian cysts.
~
Dr. Flechas with the help of Dr. Guy Abraham, GYN/Endocrinologist from Torrance, California has been able to develop an iodine testing laboratory. Dr. Flechas is now the Director of that laboratory. Iodine deficiency can now be measured using the Iodine Loading Test. Kits for doing this testing can be ordered from 1-877-900-5556. The test is available through FFP Laboratories. Dr. Flechas can be reached at his Flechas Family Practice in Henderson, North Carolina by phone 828-684-3233, fax 828-684-3253. and website www.helpmythyroid.com. Articles concerning iodine deficiency have been published and are available via his website.

Posted in MELATONIN tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 1:17 am by PCOSLady

PLEASE LAY DOWN... MY NERVES ARE WEARING THIN, ERRRR!

Melatonin
(N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine)
~
Melatonin is a hormone that naturally occurs inside the body and helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle of a person. Melatonin is available in supplement form and is used to treat sleep related disorders like insomnia and jet lag. Melatonin dosage that is considered to be safe and effective is around 1mg to 5mg. The effects of overdosing on melatonin will vary depending on the dosage and also with other factors like the genetic makeup of a person and age. It is best to seek immediate medical attention if you happen to overdose on melatonin supplements.

Bacterial Endocarditis
Gum disease exists in about 75% of Americans, and many do not realize that risk factors associated with serious health concerns such as heart disease and stroke have been associated with gum disease. Researchers have found that people with gum disease are almost twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease. This type of heart disease occurs when plaques (deposits of fat, cholesterol, calcium and other material) form in the walls of the coronary arteries, causing the walls to become thicker. That essentially makes it harder for the blood to flow through, limiting the amount of oxygen and nutrients that are necessary for proper heart function.
~ Bacterial endocarditis is a dangerous infection that involves the lining of the heart and is commonly caused when bacteria enters the blood during medical procedures. During dental treatment, a common organism found in the mouth known as Streptococcus Viridan may enter the bloodstream and travel to the heart. This may cause infected blood clot formations that are able to travel to the brain, lungs, kidney, and spleen. Fifty percent of bacterial endocarditis cases are caused by Streptococcus Viridans.

Man-made chemicals: the hidden role of the lymphatic system in the genesis of polycystic ovary, fibrocystic breast disease, and breast cancer.(Quantum Medicine Update)
~
Townsend Letter
April 1, 2009 by Yanick, Paul, Jr.
~
Breast cancer, the most frequent maligant disease in women, is caused by synthetic carcinogenic chemicals, or positive ionic poisons (PIPs). Discovered by the late UC Berkeley researcher Albert Krueger, MD, PIPs are synthetic chemicals with a positive ionic charge that are extremely hard to detoxify from the deeper lymphatic system. PIPs can be both carcinogenic and estrogenic and typically throw the female hormone system into chaos, leading to polycystic ovaries and fibrocystic breast disease.
*
They are found in everyday cosmetics, food, air, water, and pharmaceuticals, and leach out of the plastics used to package food, all of which have been strongly linked to carcinogensis.
*

While it is well known that carcinogens fuel carcinogenesis, research is scanty on the mechanisms underlying why and how PIPs are stored in the lymphatic and breast tissue and fail to be properly detoxified and excreted by the majority of today’s detoxification protocols. PIPs cripple the deeper lymphatic channels and the biliary networks of the liver, reducing bile production and increasing carcinogenic and estrogenic toxicity. Sadly, research is woefully deficient on PIP toxicity of the deep lymphatic channels in the development of female hormonal disorders and breast cancer.
~
In the October 1994 Townsend Letter, I stated: “The wellspring of the immunologic defense is the lymphatic system.” 33 In the 2001 issue, I started: “We have discovered that a high percentage of IBS sufferers have duodenitis, dysbiosis, stagnant lymph flow, and drainage in the deep lymph channels of the gut. …”[34] Could the widespread increase in breast disease be somehow related to stagnant lymph flow in the deep lymph channels of the gut? In a 2005 Nature article titled “Unlocking the Drains,” we read:
~
After centuries of playing second fiddle to the blood system, our
lymphatic circulation is coming into its own as a key player in
diseases ranging from cancer to ashthma. Once dismissed as a mere
drainage network, the body’s “second circulation” [lymphatic system]
is emerging as a crucial player in numerous diseases … and as a
vital part of the normal immune system. (35)
~
All body organs have deep lymphatic drainage functions. Ina alternative medicine, it is critical to consider both deep and superficial channels as integral parts of the lymphatic system. My medical collegues and I have spent over two decades using every sort of manual and electronic lymph drainage device on superficial lymphatic channels, with only minimal success. Since superficial channels converge to form bigger vessels feeding into the thoracic duct or the right lymphatic duct, clinical approaches should be aimed at restoring deep lymphatic drainage as a way to fully cleanse the body of PIPs.
~
At every level of our physiology, PIPs disrupt our symboises with nature, killing off beneficial commensal cells, so that genetic potential we have for cancer can be played out.

New Breakthroughs in Treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome
~
Townsend Letter June 1, 2001 by Yanick Jr., Paul
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is estimated to affect 1520% of adults. Also known as leaky gut syndrome, some IBS sufferers have constipation (difficult or infrequent bowel movements); others have diarrhea (frequent loose stools, often with an urgent need to have bowel movements); and some people experience both.
~
Although mainstream doctors call IBS a functional disorder, it is only because they are unable to detect any sign of disease when the colon is examined in isolation from other organs and systems of the body. IBS causes a great deal of pain, discomfort and distress, and may cause damage to the intestines and liver, and interfere with or even block nutrient uptake causing chronic malnutrition.
