Things unfold inside us as we age like a rose blooms petal by petal...

Hashimoto’s Disease

~
PCOS Lady
Years ago a woman had messaged me asking if you could have PCOS and Hashimoto’s disease… Back then (2003-2004) research had not mentioned them together… Today the two are connected… There was little online then about Hashimoto’s disease, she learned from her doctor….
~
Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. It also is called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (theye-royd-EYET-uhss). Hashimoto’s disease does not have unique signs and symptoms. The disease typically progresses slowly over a number of years and causes chronic thyroid damage, leading to a drop in thyroid hormone levels in your blood. The signs and symptoms are mainly those of an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism).
~
The signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism vary widely, depending on the severity of hormone deficiency. At first, you may barely notice any symptoms, such as fatigue and sluggishness, or you may simply attribute them to getting older. But as the disease progresses, you may develop more obvious signs and symptoms.
~
Signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism include:
~
~ Fatigue and sluggishness
~ Increased sensitivity to cold
~ Constipation
~ Pale, dry skin
~ A puffy face
~ Hoarse voice
~ An elevated blood cholesterol level
~ Unexplained weight gain — occurring infrequently and rarely exceeding 10 to 20 pounds, most of which is fluid
~ Muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness, especially in your shoulders and hips
~ Pain and stiffness in your joints and swelling in your knees or the small joints in your hands and feet
~ Muscle weakness, especially in your lower extremities
~ Excessive or prolonged menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)
~ Depression
~
Without treatment, signs and symptoms gradually become more severe and your thyroid gland may become enlarged (goiter).
~
Consult your doctor if you develop these signs and symptoms:
~
~ Tiredness for no apparent reason
~ Dry skin
~ Pale, puffy face
~ Constipation
~ Hoarse voice
~
Have periodic testing of your thyroid function if:
~
~ You’ve had thyroid surgery
~ You’ve had treatment with radioactive iodine or anti-thyroid medications
~ You’ve had radiation therapy to your head, neck or upper chest
~
NOTES
~
~ High blood cholesterol might be caused by hypothyroidism. And if you’re receiving hormone therapy for hypothyroidism caused by

Posted in MELATONIN tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 1:17 am by PCOSLady

PLEASE LAY DOWN... MY NERVES ARE WEARING THIN, ERRRR!

Melatonin
(N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine)
~
Melatonin is a hormone that naturally occurs inside the body and helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle of a person. Melatonin is available in supplement form and is used to treat sleep related disorders like insomnia and jet lag. Melatonin dosage that is considered to be safe and effective is around 1mg to 5mg. The effects of overdosing on melatonin will vary depending on the dosage and also with other factors like the genetic makeup of a person and age. It is best to seek immediate medical attention if you happen to overdose on melatonin supplements.
~
PCOS Lady
Melatonin, i became aware of it from a friend’s autistic child who had racing thoughts 24/7… It calmed him down and he slept through the night… Dosage is by weight and takes 30 days to build up in the body…
~
A good friend said his mother and he could never sleep soundly their whole lives… I mentioned trying melatonin… He has and has been getting several hours of sound sleep now… He is a person that worries and frets so does have nights he is awake for periods some nights…

~
~ Melatonin is for kids, adults and dogs…
~ Melatonin is a little known natural hormone that effects many, as you can see by the deficiency list…

2004 PCOS Statistics

Posted in FACT tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:47 pm by PCOSLady

PCOS Lady: I found these statistics posted on a blog or site in 2004 or 2005… Makes you think how the numbers have increased and maybe decreased over the years… This was the reality of PCOS in 2004!
~ ~ ~
PCOS
2004 Statistics

~ ~ ~
•~ 6-10% of all Females; ages 5+ years, are PCOS
~
•~ 30% of all PCOSers register as Insulin Resistant
~
•~ 50% of all PCOSers are overweight
~
•~ 40% (up to) of “Unexplained Infertility” patients are actually PCOS and don’t even know it!
~
•~ 30% of all PCOSers do not present cysts
~
•~ 20% of “Abnormal Glucose Tolerance” tests are PCOS
~
•~ 40% of “Abnormal Glucose Tolerance” develop diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance by age 40
~
•~ 20% of all infertility patients deal with ovulation problems
~
•~ 5% of all infertility patients treat their infertility
~
•~ 15% of all infertility patients treat their infertility in a mandated state for infertility coverage insurance
~
•~ 75% of all IVF patients deliver a singleton
~
•~ 20% of all IVF patients deliver twins
~
•~ 5% of all IVF patients deliver triplets
~
•~ 25% of normal pregnancies end in miscarriage
~
•~ 35-40% of PCOS pregnancies end in miscarriage. This is a 10-15% increase risk over ‘normal’ pregnancies.
~
I hope these statistics show you many things… 1st your doctors might be unaware of PCOS and its extremes… 2nd it effects your young girls… Bullying is an epidemic today, weight being a main cause… 3rd you may need to change your direction of testing, treatments, etc… 4th you may gained peace of mind in knowing more of what “it” might be or is… ETC… “IT” depends on YOU since PCOS effects every woman differently… Treatment varies for each woman too!
~
I am a firm believer many relationships, marriages and abuse of various degrees would be decreased IF we all know about PCOS…
~ If a female gains 100lbs over a year or close to it, she may have PCOS… Many females fall in to depression or hurt themselves when the weight will not go away!
~
* Have them tested for PCOS, a thyroid disorder or another hormone imbalance… Might be something else…
~

SMELLS WRONG! NUMBERS INCREASING, DOCTORS INTERPRET PCOS ANY WAY THEY LIKE, ETC.... SOMETHING HAS TO HAPPEN! 2004 THE AACE MADE PCOS A DOCTOR'S PRIORITY!

Bacterial Endocarditis
Gum disease exists in about 75% of Americans, and many do not realize that risk factors associated with serious health concerns such as heart disease and stroke have been associated with gum disease. Researchers have found that people with gum disease are almost twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease. This type of heart disease occurs when plaques (deposits of fat, cholesterol, calcium and other material) form in the walls of the coronary arteries, causing the walls to become thicker. That essentially makes it harder for the blood to flow through, limiting the amount of oxygen and nutrients that are necessary for proper heart function.
~ Bacterial endocarditis is a dangerous infection that involves the lining of the heart and is commonly caused when bacteria enters the blood during medical procedures. During dental treatment, a common organism found in the mouth known as Streptococcus Viridan may enter the bloodstream and travel to the heart. This may cause infected blood clot formations that are able to travel to the brain, lungs, kidney, and spleen. Fifty percent of bacterial endocarditis cases are caused by Streptococcus Viridans.

Parasite Symptoms (extensive)

Posted in PARASITES tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:30 pm by PCOSLady

Aliens in YOU!

You are the breeding ground for aliens (bad parasites) inside your body!

~
PCOS Lady’s personal suggestions: Get a parasite test kit from http://www.ParasiteTesting.com first… Know what types you do have, if you have any… Treat to rid them and then do a cleanse every 3 months after or test yearly or so…
– A month after, now list your symptoms and tackle them with your health care provider…
– I am not endorsing their product… I am quoting their symptoms and felt you needed to know what parasites do in you along with what a cleanse will do…
~
PCOS Lady’s experience:
Swollen lymph nodes in your neck are associated with parasites… I have two that swell up at times… One under my left side chin and another on the left at the back of my jaw… One or both will swell to varying sizes or one or neither… This is in conjunction with my left wisdom tooth acting up…
~
Humaworm’s product site has an extensive list on parasite symptoms i had to post for you…
The symptoms overlap other medical conditions…
~
Parasite Testing research doctor asked me if i had experienced a burning around my heart… A few days later i experienced 4 bouts of hard indigestion… Now i feel a burn like when you get a razor cut and the skin touches, that kinda burn…
~
SYMPTOMS of PARASITES
~
Quoted from:
https://humaworm.com/symptoms.html
~ ~ ~
HOW & WHY PARASITES MAKE US SICK
Before you read over the following list of symptoms, you need to understand how and why parasites make us sick. Parasites are the HIDDEN DISEASE, they can occur ANYWHERE in the body, in EVERY organ, in ALL tissues, and in the blood. Parasites can cause problems that mimic other disorders and are not diagnosed as being parasite related.
~
Not only do they cause harm by taking nutrients away from their host, they also produce toxic waste (from their excrement and death cycles) that affects the human body including the central nervous system.
~
* If you nor your doctor can’t figure out why you’re not feeling 100%, then please continue to read!!
~
The Symptoms of Parasite Infections
~ ~ ~
STOMACH & INTESTINAL COMPLICATIONS – The sheer number of parasites in the lower digestive system and the toxic waste produced by them can cause these problems:
~
~ Diarrhea
~ Chronic Constipation
~ Gas & Bloating
~ Digestive Problems
~ Excessive Early Bowel Movements (very explosive bowel movements very soon after eating)
~ Abdominal Pain
~ Mucus in the Stools
~ Leaky Gut
~ Nausea
~ Hemorrhoids
~ Burning in the Stomach
~ Bloody Stools
~
FATIGUE – The toxic metabolic waste overloads and overworks the organs of elimination and taxes the central nervous system causing:
~
~ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
~ Low Energy
~ Lethargy
~ Excessive Weakness
~
SKIN DISORDERS & ALLERGIES – Parasites that penetrate the skin cause itching. When tissue becomes inflamed from these parasites, the body’s white blood cells increase to defend the body. This reaction causes skin rashes and food allergies to appear. Parasites also create toxins and the skin, being the largest organ, tries to remove these toxins which causes many skin problems.
Symptoms include:
~
~ Dry Skin
~ Dry Hair
~ Brittle Hair
~ Hair Loss
~ Allergies
~ Itchy Nose
~ Itchy Anus
~ Itchy Skin
~ Hives
~ Allergic Reactions to Food
~ Crawling Sensation Under the Skin
~ Rashes
~ Weeping Eczema
~ Cutaneous Ulcers
~ Papular Lesions
~ Swelling
~ Sores
~
MOOD & ANXIETY PROBLEMS – Once again, it’s the toxic metabolic waste produced by the parasites that attack the central nervous system causing:
~
~ Mood Swings
~ Nervousness
~ Depression
~ Forgetfulness
~ Unclear Thinking
~ Restlessness
~ Anxiety
~ Slow Reflexes
~
SLEEP DISTURBANCES –
The physical presence of the parasites themselves are a nuisance to the human body. The body reacts to them during periods of rest, this in turn produces:
~ Insomnia
~ Teeth Grinding During Sleep
~ Bed Wetting
~ Drooling While Asleep
~ Disturbed Sleep – Multiple Awakenings
~
WEIGHT & APPETITE PROBLEMS – Parasites live undetected by their hosts. They rob the body of all essential nutrients (they get the choicest nutrition from the food you eat) and you are left with the fats, sugars, etc. Many overweight persons are infested with parasites, they stay hungry which leads to overeating because of the parasites. Depending on the type of parasite infestation, many people are malnourished, they can’t gain weight, again, because of the parasites. This is why parasites cause:
~
~ Weight Gain
~ Long-Standing Obesity
~ Loss of Appetite OR
~ Uncontrollable Hunger Eating More Than Normal BUT Still Feeling Hungry
~ Inability to Gain or Lose Weight
~
MUSCLE & JOINT COMPLAINTS – Parasites can travel to almost all soft tissue including in the joints and muscles where they cause cysts and inflammation that is commonly mistaken as arthritis and muscle pain. The toxins from parasites can also pool in the joints and in muscle tissue causing:
~
~ Muscle Pain
~ Joint Pain
~ Muscle Cramping
~ Numbness of the Hands and/or Feet
~ Heart Pain
~ Pain in The Navel
~ Pain in the Back, Thighs or Shoulders
~ Arthritic Pains
~ Fast Heartbeat
~
BLOOD DISORDERS – The parasites get the good vitamins, including iron, leading to:
~ Hypoglycemia
~ Anemia
~
SEXUAL & REPRODUCTIVE PROBLEMS – With a weakened immune system caused by parasites and their waste you also can experience:
~
~ Male Impotence
~ Erectile Dysfunction
~ PMS
~ Candida – Yeast Infections
~ Urinary Tract Infections
~ Cysts & Fibroids
~ Menstrual Problems
~ Prostate Problems
~ Water Retention
~
OTHER SYMPTOMS – More health problems caused by parasites:
~
~ Excessive Saliva
~ Unclear Vision
~ Bad Breath
~ Poor Immune Response
~ Fever
~ Respiratory Problems
~ Peritonitis
~ Chronic Viral or Bacterial Symptoms
~ Body Odor
~
List is from Humaworm’s site…
For example: Parasite urine is pure ammonia! HUMAWORM not only removes parasites – it ALSO REMOVES TOXINS FROM THE ENTIRE BODY!

Iodine (the good and dificiencies)

Posted in MINERALS tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 11:48 pm by PCOSLady

Iodine
~
Iodine is a chemical element found in trace amounts in humans and is vital to the function of the thyroid gland. The function of iodine in the body is in the synthesis of thyroid hormones: thyronine T4 and triiodothyronine T3, which aid in growth and development.
~
Thyroid hormones stimulate basal rate of metabolism, oxygen consumption and heat production. Most of your body’s organ symptoms are directly or indirectly influenced by thyroid hormones.
~
Iodine Deficiency Symptoms
~
What is iodine deficiency?
Iodine is an element that is needed for the production of thyroid hormone. The body does not make iodine, so it is an essential part of your diet. Iodine is found in various foods.
~
Common symptoms that can occur with prolonged iodine deficiency include:

~
~ Constipation
~ Depressed mood
~ Dry skin
~ Fatigue
~ Goiter (enlargement of the thyroid, creating a mass in the neck)
~ Increased sensitivity to cold
~ Menstrual cycle abnormalities
~ Protrusion of the eyes
~ Thickening of the skin
~ Thinning and brittleness of the hair and nails
~ Unintended weight gain
~ Weakness
~
Serious symptoms that might indicate a life-threatening condition,
In some cases, iodine deficiency can be life threatening. Seek immediate medical care (call 911) if you, or someone you are with, have any of these life-threatening symptoms including:
~
~ Being a danger to oneself or others, including threatening, irrational or suicidal behavior
~ Bleeding while pregnant
~ Change in level of consciousness or alertness, such as passing out or unresponsiveness
~ Change in mental status or behavior change, such as confusion, delirium, lethargy, hallucinations or delusions
~ Chest pain, chest tightness, chest pressure, palpitations
~ Respiratory or breathing problems, such as shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, labored breathing, wheezing, not breathing, or choking

Adrenal Fatigue in Women

Posted in FATIGUE, RELATED: HORMONES tagged , , , , , , , at 11:59 pm by PCOSLady

Adrenal Fatigue in Women
~
http://www.bodylogicmd.com/for-women/adrenal-fatigue
~
Mama said there’d be days like this, but I didn’t think they’d all be so close together!
~
Remember hearing how the “fight-or-flight” response was what helped save the species from things like saber-tooth tigers and volcanic eruptions? Well, wouldn’t it be something to see our ancestors trying to handle the carpooling, full-time jobs, economic blow-ups, traffic and trips to the grocery store that trigger our “fight-or-flight” response several times every day? Throw some hormone imbalance, depression, anxiety and adrenal fatigue into the mix. No wonder we’re exhausted.
~
Adrenal Fatigue in Women
~
The Adrenal Glands
~
Contact a Physician after you take the QUIZ!
Post Menopause Stress and adrenal fatigue go hand in hand. The adrenal glands, two triangle-shaped glands that sit over the kidneys, are responsible for regulating the body’s response to stress by controlling the hormones released during stress. When stress becomes chronic or is not well managed, the adrenal glands are unable to function optimally. Cortisol is the main adrenal hormone and it is used to manage stress. The highest amount of cortisol is secreted by the adrenals in the morning to get us going, with levels decreasing throughout the day. The adrenals secrete cortisol in response to low blood sugar, stress, exercise, and excitement.
~
The Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue
~
~ Waking up in the mid-portion of the night
~ Unable to fall asleep
~ Anxiety
~ Depression
~ Increased susceptibility to infections
~ Midday Fatigue
~ Reduced tolerance for stress
~ Craving for sweets and salty foods
~ Allergies to things you were never allergic to before
~ Chemical sensitivities
~ A tendency to feel cold (many people and doctors think they have hypothyroidism).
~
The Solution
~
The stress caused by hormone imbalance, namely in perimenopause and menopause for women, is a huge contributor to adrenal fatigue. Bioidentical hormone therapy balances your hormones, including the hormones released during stress, with customized prescriptions that fit your body chemistry and what your body needs. This, combined with an individualized nutrition /supplement and fitness program, maintains normal hormone levels and can effectively eliminate the symptoms associated with menopause and perimenopause.
~
The dietary supplements that BodyLogicMD offers to treat adrenal fatigue as part of the nutrition plan ensure that your body will have a healthy ratio of essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. This healthy ratio works in concert with the bioidentical hormone therapy to provide some relief from adrenal fatigue symptoms and to help ensure that the condition and its symptoms do not return. The vitamins and minerals personalized by your BodyLogicMD bioidentical hormone doctor aid your adrenal glands in handling stress. This plan of hormonal balance and proper nutrition, serve to greatly reduce stress and adrenal fatigue.

~ Parasite Testing Lab – checks for every parasite known… www.parasitetesting.com
~
* Fact: If you are being treated for a symptom over 3 weeks by a doctor and it does not ease up or go away…. 8 of 10 times YOU have parasites!
~
* FYI: If you travel abroad you should be tested yearly for parasites…
– Get tested yearly in general to be safe…
~
* FACT: Parasite Testing research doctor asked me, when i called, if i had experienced a burning around my heart… A few days later i experienced 4 bouts of hard indigestion… Now i feel a burn like when you get a razor cut and the skin touches, that kinda burn…
~
IBS: Irritable Bowl Syndrome
This IBS diagnosis is a “catch all” for many doctors because they have no idea what you actually have!
~ Per the Parasite Testing Lab…
~ 8 of 10 cases are in fact parasites!
~
* Fact: Parasite Testing Lab years ago tested 100 Europeans, finding 20% had parasites… 100 US were tested and found 32% had parasites… Point: The US doctors claimed the US is to clean to have parasites!
~
* Fact in Patient Cases:
http://www.womentowomen.com/digestionandgihealth/parasites.aspx
Gastrointestinal distress — could it be intestinal parasites?
~
When I started Women to Women over 25 years ago, I saw patients almost every day who were suffering from digestive problems like bloating, constipation, diarrhea, gas and fatigue.
~
Back then I often referred patients to gastroenterologists. Frequently they came back to me with the diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and with the recommendation that they should make dietary changes, increase fiber in their diet and use Metamucil. But too often these changes brought them no relief. I was aware at that time that stress could play a part in their discomfort, and made suggestions accordingly. But this also did not seem to be very effective. Their symptoms remained mysterious and frustrating.

~ Suffer with restlessness and anxiety?
~ Experience multiple awakenings during the night particularly between 2 and 3 am?
~ Grind your teeth?
~ Have an excessive amount of bacterial or viral infections?
Depressed?
~ Difficulty gaining or losing weight no matter what you do?

* NOTES:
~ You will find more symptoms…
~ Your genital area will change from normal to a different color i think… Dr Amin had said he can tell by a look!
~ You will find symptoms overlap other conditions…
(* research a diagnosis including almost ALL your symptoms)
